Detailed product description

Coffee from the Simbi processing station, located in the Huye region of southern Rwanda, is a result of detailed and careful processing and strong community spirit – with women making up 80% of the workforce. The station was established in 2013 and in its very first year, it placed 9th in the Cup of Excellence.

The cherries come from around 300 smallholder farmers in the Rugarama area, where the Bourbon variety is grown at altitudes ranging from 1,710 to 1,850 meters above sea level.

Processing

Carefully selected ripe cherries are naturally sun-dried on raised African beds for 30 to 60 days, depending on weather conditions. This method highlights the coffee’s fruity sweetness and clarity in the cup.

Flavour Profile

Expect juicy notes of tangerine, bright red wine acidity, and raspberry fruitiness.
